Chapter One

Fifteen years had passed since Kelly had a one night stand with Justin. A week later she found out she was pregnant. Nine months later,she gave birth to a healthy baby girl. Justin wasn't there. He knew she had a baby but he had left her for another girl. As the years went by,Kelly's daughter that she named Megan grew up not knowing that her mother was famous and that her dad was too.Her mother never spoke of Justin. She had always told Megan that her dad was "not around and that's good for us." But Megan always wondered who her father was.

Chapter Two

One morning in October,Megan was in her bedroom dressing for school. Her boyfriend was going to pick her up and take her there so she wanted to dress nice for him. Megan threw on a demin skirt and a pink blouse that was sleeveless and frilly around the hem. If being sexy was a school subject,Megan would pass it with flying colors. She knew she was drop-dead sexy. Her hair was dirty blound,slightly curly. Her skin was a little on the dark side and that was what she found not normal about herself.Megan's mother was white and never knowing what her dad looked like she suspected that he was Mexican or African-American.

Kelly knew Megan was going to be late for school if she didn't hurry. She went to Megan's bedroom door and said"Megan Renee,you better get going.You'll be late!"

"Chill out,Mom. Billy can wait on me." Kelly opened the door and saw her daughter looking at herself in the mirror. "I thought you were still getting dressed but all you are doing is amiring yourself."

Megan followed her mom into the kitchen,they had a quick breakfest of Pop Tarts and Orange Juice.

"Do you have anything going on after school,Meg?"

"Cheerleading and then Billy is taking me out for supper."

"When do you think you'll be home?"

"I DON'T KNOW,MOTHER! GOD! YOU TREAT ME LIKE A BABY!"

"Sorry,you're my only baby."

"Maybe you should have had more kids."

"Now sweetie,"

"You should have."

Megan threw her bookbag on,got her purse and went outside to wait for her boyfriend. Billy arrived five minutes later. He was a hottie. Seductive blue eyes,blound hair.He looked like a god but he only had eyes for Megan. She was a sex symbol in his eyes.He knew something was wrong with Meg.

"What's wrong,Meg?"

"Mom and I had a fight."
"Again? You and your mom fight a lot."

"We don't see eye to eye on things.I wish my dad was around."

"Where is he again?"

"I don't know.I've never met him.Mom never speaks about him.I wish she would."

"I can see why."

The young couple got to school and went inside. But something was different about Meg,Billy sensed it. She was missing something from her life. He didn't know what but something was not there and it needed to be there. Then it dawned on him,the thing that was missing was.....Megan's father.

Chapter Three

That day at school,Megan was having a rotten day. Everything went wrong. She flunked a test,had a fight with one of her teachers and to top it all off she didn't get cheerleading captain. She had supper with Billy and all she did was bitch about how terrible her life was.

"Billy,I've had the worst day of my fricking life! I flunked a stupid test! Had a fight with that stupid teacher! And I'm not cheerleading captain! I'm going to make that bitch so miserable!"

"Meg,calm down.We all have bad days."

"Not as bad as mine. I've never met my dad."

"What?"

"My dad left my mom before I was born.So I don't remember him. For my 16th birthday,I want to meet him and ask him why he was never around for me."

"My dad left my mom when I was three."

"At least you knew him.You have a sister and a mom that can tell you about him."

"Alicia hates talking about dad.And Mom hates him too."

"Oh. How old was Alicia when your dad left?"

"Six and a half."

"So she remembers him."

"Yeah and so does Travis."

"Travis is your older brother?"

"Yeah.When dad left he was ten."

"So he knows him well?"

"Uh huh."

After supper, Billy took Megan home.

Kelly was worried to death about her daughter. She was supposded to be home at 6. But she didn't arrive till 6:30.

"Megan,where have you been?"

"Chill out. I was with Billy."

"You could have called."

"Sorry!"

"I was worried."

"You shouldn't be."

"I know you're growing up and becoming a woman.But you're still my baby."

"I know.Mom I have to ask you something."

"What is it,sweetheart?"

"Who is my dad? Why isn't he here? Why did he leave us?"

Kelly took a deep breath.

"Mom,who is he?"

"Megan,its time you knew."

"Time I knew what?"

"Your father and I were famous when we were in our 20s.Have you ever heard of a show called American Idol?"

"Yeah."

"We met while being contesents on the first season."

"Mom,if that's true.Then you're Kelly Clarkson?"

"Yes."

"Oh my god."

"This may be hard for you to handle.Your father was Justin. We had a one night stand and I got pregnant with you. He didn't want the struggles of parenthood right then and there.So he left.Justin does love you."

"Then why isn't he here?"

"Two weeks after I found out. I told him. He was mad and said "You're a good for nothing whore." And then he left."

"But you said that he loves me."

"When you were born,Justin came back and said he was sorry.But I was such a stubborn mule that I told him to leave.He said"Tell the baby that I love her." "

"Will I ever see him?"

"He called me last week and told me that he's going to be here for your sweet 16."

"That's in two days."

"I know."

"Mom,was my dad a bad person?"

"No.He was a sweet and kind man."

"Then why?"

"He wasn't ready to be a dad.But I was ready to be a mom."

"Oh."

Megan did her homework and went to bed. She was excited.Not as excited as a kid on Christmas Eve but just excited and a little nervous. In two days she would finally see her dad face to face. She couldn't wait!

Chapter Four

The next morning was better than the morning before. Now,Megan understood why she was dark. It was because she was one-fourth African American. She was tiny and skinny and now since knowing the truth she knew her father was skinny and her mom was tiny.

Kelly didn't have to nag at Meg to get going. She was excited,in one day she would see the love of her life again.Kelly took Megan to school that morning because Billy{Meg's bf} had early morning swim practice. When Billy got to school he was greeted by Meg's smiling face.

" Hey Meg.You're happy today."

"I found out some stuff about my dad."

"Really?"

"Yeah.Ever heard of a show called American Idol?"

"Yes."

"My parents are Kelly Clarkson and Justin Guarini."

"No shit?"

"I'm serious.Mom told me last night."

''Sweet."

"My Dad is going to be here for my 16th birthday!!"

"That's tommorow."

"I know! I'm so excited!"

That day was one of the best Megan ever had. She did well on her homework,made up with the teacher that she had a fight with and became cheerleading co-captain.

On the way home with Billy,she talked nonstop about what she wanted to say to her dad.

"I want to hug him.I wanna kiss him......."

"Meg,control yourself.What if he doesn't show up?"

That thought made Megan's blood run cold. Her dad might not show up. She would be so disappointed. But in her heart she knew that her dad was going to be there.

Chapter Five

That night while Kelly and Megan were having supper, the doorbell rang. Kelly looked puzzled and asked her daughter"Did you invite Billy over for supper?" "No." "Any of your cheerleading buddies?" "Mom,I didn't invite anyone." "Hum."

Kelly got up and answered the door. She almost had a heart attack when she saw who was on the other side of the door. She looked surprised,then happy,then surprised once more.

"Please come in."

Megan heard the door close and her heart lept. She kept hearing kissing noises and soft talking. Finally after what seemed like forever,Kelly returned with a man.

This man she was with was tall,sorta dark, and skinny.

Megan looked at him and had a feeling.

"Are you my?"

Kelly interupted,"Megan,this is your father. Justin,this is your daugther."

The man sat down next to Megan and said

"Hi."

"Hey."

Underneath the table,Kelly kicked Justin in the shin.

"Ow!"

"What's wrong?"

"Um,let me say something.Like your mom said I'm your dad. My name is Justin. I don't care if you call me Justin or dad or jerk or whatever. I was going to be here tommorow but I figured why not come tonight.So,Happy Birthday."

He reached over to Megan and gave her a hug.

"You know,nobody has hugged me like that."

"Cool."

"Yeah.I have one more question."

"What's that?"

"Um,are you and Mom going to get married?"

Silence entered the table. Megan looked at each of her parents in suspicion. She thought "Great.Just when I finally meet my dad he leaves."

Justin spoke"Yes. We are."

Kelly gave him a look that read"What?"

"Really?"

"Yeah.I mean those 15 years that I wasn't here made me realize that home is where your heart is. And my heart wanted to be here. So,I'm home."

Kelly looked at Justin and for the first time in a long long time,she reached over to his face and touched it. Then Justin took his hand and touched hers.

"Um,Mom,Dad I'm here."

They snapped back to reality in a heartbeat.

"Meg,shouldn't you be working on your homework?"

"I don't have any."

"Oh,how about the three of us spend some quality family time?"

Justin and Megan agreed.

The family did the dishes together. Afterwards they played a board game and watched a movie.

Megan went to bed that night a happy girl. She finally knew her father and the fact that he was going to marry her mom made Meg a extermely happy girl. Life seemed complete and perfect. She had two parents who would do anything for her,a boyfriend who was crazy about her and many friends. Life was good.

Chapter Six Meg woke up early the next day. It was a Friday. Her favourite day of the week. To make things even better it was her sweet 16th. Her parents had promised her that after school,she could invite two friends,and the five of them would go out to eat. For a early Feburary morning,it was beautiful. The recent snow on the ground shined in the sunlight. It looked like everything was going to be awesome. She dressed quickly. Megan was wearing a blue sweater,hip-hugger jeans,black boots,and big hoop earrings. She took her hair and put it up into a ponytail. Then,Megan went to the kitchen to eat breakfest with her parents. She entered the room in a pleasent mood. Justin was sitting at the table talking to Kelly. He was fully dressed in blue jeans and a sweatshirt. When Megan entered,he stood up and walked over to her. "Happy birthday." "Thanks dad." Kelly was fixing pancakes. She was dressed too. "Oh! Here she is! Our little birthday girl!" "Our?" "Megan,don't you remember? Your father purposed to me last night." "Then he's not my father yet." "Uh,yeah he is. If it weren't for him you wouldn't be alive." "Oh.I forgot that." Kelly got out a small box. "Here,open this." Megan opened the box. Inside was a silver snowflake hanging on a golden colored chain. "Mom,its beautiful." Kelly put the necklace on her daughter. "You like it?" "Its pretty." "Sweetie,that's from your father." "Dad?" "Yeah?" "I like it.Thanks." "You're welcome." They sat down and ate breakfest. "So when are you guys getting married?" Both of them thought for a minute. Kelly spoke first,"We talked about this after you went to bed. And we've decided on an August wedding." "That's only six months from now." "I know that." "You'll be my maid of honor." "Cool." "Yeah. I think maybe next month we should start looking at wedding dresses and stuff like that." Justin spoke,"But you can't wear white,Kelly." "Why do you say that?" "Because,you're not a virgin!" Kelly smacked Justin in the back of the head. "You silly doof!" The doorbell rang. Megan got up to answer it.Billy was standing there with Megan's best friend. "Hi!" Billy brought Megan into a hug and kissed her on the forehead. "Happy birthday." Megan's best friend,a medium sized girl named Melissa handed Megan a bag. '' Happy Birthday,Meg!" Meg opened the bag.Inside was a stuffed animal. It was a small little black puppy dog. "Oh,Melissa its' cute! Melissa blushed,"Thanks Meg." Billy and Melissa followed Megan into the kitchen. Kelly saw the two teens and said"Hey Melissa.Hey Billy." Both of the teenagers replied,"Hi,Ms.Clarkson." Billy noticed Justin. "Um,Meg pardon my nosiness but who is that man sitting next to your mom?" Megan blushed,"Billy,that's my father." Justin stood up and shoke Billy's hand. "Nice to meet you,Billy.I'm Megan's dad.My name is Justin." Melissa walked over,"Hi,my name is Melissa Adams. I'm Meg's best friend." "Hello,Melissa. Nice to meet you." "Its nice to meet you too,Sir." The three kids went to school. Megan had a wonderful day. Everthing went perfectly!!

Chapter Seven

{author's note- three weeks have passed.}

One morning,Kelly was feeling sick. She didn't have fever or anything that would suggest the flu. She told Justin about it while they were still in bed.

"And I just don't get it.I don't have a fever,but yet I throw up."

"Maybe you're bulmic?"

"Yeah right.I've been eating too much lately."

"Maybe you're a glutton?"

"And how would that explain the throwing up?"

"I don't know."

"Exactly,I have no clue why I'm sick."

"I'm taking you to the doctor after Meg leaves for school."

"Why?"

"This is the fifth day in a row that you've been complaining with this throwing up business. And you've been a bitch lately."

"A BITCH?I am not a bitch! You better apologize!"

"Face the fricking facts Kell,you've been a nag lately."

Kelly started to cry,"You don't love me anymore."

"And besides the puking,you've been moody."

"That settles it,I'm going to the doctor."

When they went into the kitchen,Megan wasn't there.She had left a note:

Mom and Dad,

I left early with Melissa. She has student council this morning and I'm a member of sc too.

"Well,"Justin said,"We're alone."

The two ate a quiet breakfest. Together,they went into their bedroom and got dressed. Kelly put on a sweatshirt that read"I don't do mornings",and blue jeans. Justin wore a black teeshirt that read"The village called,their idiot is missing".

"Don't wear that.You're 42,not 24."

"I'm only as old as I feel."

"Yeah right."

"Atleast,I'm a tiger in bed."

"You're Gurrrrrrrreat!"

"Thanks! I'm Tony The Tiger!"

"You mean,Justin The Tiger."

"Whatever."

Kelly laughed and Justin cracked up too.

"Do you remember when we were in our 20s?"

"Yeah,we were so freaking famous."

"You were.I was just"American Idol runnerup".

"It was embrassing standing there when I was given a platinum album."

"I was so proud of you."

"Really?"

"Yeah."

"That's so sweet!"

Kelly put her arms around Justin's waist.

They went to the doctor at around 12. Kelly felt nervous and when she was nervous Justin was cool as a cucumber. It was something they couldn't describe.

Finally,Kelly went into the doctor's main office.Justin came along.

After describing everything that was going on with her body,Kelly asked"Do you know what's wrong with me?"

The doctor{a nice woman named Shirley}said"Well,when was the last time you had a period?"

"Um,last month about five weeks ago.It was right before,we started sleeping together."

"Kelly,you don't have the flu.You're pregnant."

"I'm what?"

"Let me put it this way.In nine months,you'll have a new son or daughter."

Kelly stared at the doctor.

She was in complete disbelief.

Justin spoke"When exactly is she due?"

"The middle of November."

"We're getting married August 18th."

"I suggest you move the date.''

"I think we should,I mean I don't want to worry if the baby comes during the honeymoon."

They left the doctor's office in silence. A new baby. How would Megan react?

Chapter Eight

On the way home,Kelly and Justin were talking about their new "baby to be".

"Do you want a boy or a girl?"

"Um,to tell you the truth Kell.I don't care if its a boy or a girl."

"Yeah,I don't care either. I'll love it even if it's blind or deaf or stupid."

"I hope Meg doesn't get mad at us."

"Why do you say that,Just?"

"Well,I mean she's 16 and a new baby might make her mad."

"I became an aunt when I was 16.And I was okay with that."

"But,you and Meg are two completely different women."

"True....very true."

They had reached home and went inside. Kelly collapsed onto the couch.

"Are you tired or something?"

"I feel sick."

Justin sat down next to her.

"Put your head in my lap."

Kelly put her head on Justin's lap. He lovingly stroked Kelly's brown hair. Then he realized something.

"Kell?"

"Hum?"

"I've always loved you."

"Really?"

"Yeah,Ever since the moment I met you."

"That was in 2002."

"Your point?"

"That means that you've loved me for a long long time."

"You're so beautiful.When I first saw you my heart said"she's beautiful" and my mind said "Ugh!". I listened to my heart. When you first started to be friends with me,I liked it. But when you got pregnant I got scared and left. I stayed away and didn't become a "man" till about six months ago."

"I've always loved you too."

Megan walked in.

"Hi Mom.Hi dad."

"Hey Meg."

"Megan,sit down."

Megan sat down in a chair near her parents.

"We have to tell you something."

"What? Is something wrong? Are you guys going to break up?"

"Megan.......um..."

"What?"

Kelly took a deep breath.

"Mom?"

Justin cleared his throat.

"Meg,your mother is pregnant."

Chapter Nine

Megan stared at her parents in complete disbelief.

"Are you lying to me?"

"Meg,we wouldn't lie to you. I really am pregnant."

"I just can't believe you would do this! I'm 16! 16 year olds don't have little baby brothers or sisters. I hate you...both of you. You won't make me baby-sit that critter!"

"Megan......."

"I'm leaving."

She grabbed her coat and slammed the front door. Kelly and Justin heard her start the car and drive away.

"She's upset."

"I knew it! I knew she would be mad!"

"Kell,its going to be okay.She'll come back."

"Meg will never ever forgive us."

"She will."

'' No she won't. I remember whenever she was a kid I had to be away from her for months at a time because I was on tour. When I decided to become a full-time mother,I promised her that we would become closer. That happend when she was 12,and I guess she still remembers."

"So you think that she thinks the baby will be the center of our lives forever?"

"Yeah."

Justin put an arm around Kelly. She was sobbing like there was no tomorrow.

meanwhile-

Megan was driving in the park. She felt bad about her outburst. She thought,"I can't believe this. I thought they would never have kids.Guess I was wrong. I should go back and apologize.Yeah.I will."

She turned her car around and drove home.While she was driving a familar song came on the radio.

Megan parked the car and ran inside the house. Her mother was still awake.

"Mom,shouldn't you be asleep?"

"No,I wanted to wait till you got home."

"Where's dad?"

"He got tired and went to bed."

"I heard one of your old songs on the radio."

"Really? Which one?"

"That one is my favourtie."

"I think I have your voice."

"What?"

"Mom,I think I can sing."

"Oh,sweetie if you can then you didn't get the gift from just me. Your father can sing too."

"I know."

Kelly paused.

"Sweetheart,put your hand on my stomach."

Megan followed her mother's request.

''I don't feel anything."

"In about 4 months,you'll feel something.The baby will kick. Are you still mad at us?"

"Mom,I acted like a little kid.I'm sorry."

"Its okay."

Megan hugged her mother.

"Can I go wake dad?"

"Sure."

Megan tiptoed into her parents' bedroom. She could hear somebody softly snoring.

She wishpered.

"Dad?"

"Yes?"

"I'm home."

"Okay.Thanks for waking me up."

"You're welcome."

"Go to sleep,Megan."

"Yes,dad."

Megan left the room and got ready for bed. Her mother was already ready for bed. She heard her mom go into her room and talk to Megan's dad.

Megan smiled, she loved her parents and knew that they loved her more than life itself.

Chapter 10

Three months had passed since Megan found out her mother was pregnant. That same night,Kelly told her that the wedding was going to be in June. To be exact,June 19.

And now here it was the day of the wedding.

"Mom! You have to put on your dress now!"

"I'm going to look like a fat cow."

"Don't say that."

"Its true. Look at me I'm a bride and I'm almost four months pregnant."

"I can barely tell you're pregnant.Put on your dress!"

Kelly finally gave in and Megan helped her put on the dress. Kelly looked like a goddess. The dress was sleeveless and long{it came down past her ankles},there was no train at the end of the dress. The vail was beautiful! It looked like a white halo with lacey fabric attached to it. Around the headpiece were little gemstones. Kelly didn't look 38 years old,she looked like she was 19.

Megan's maid of honor dress was just as beautiful. It was robin's egg blue,also sleeveless. The dress came down to Megan's ankles and sparkled.

meanwhile-

Justin was a nervous wreck. He felt sick and anixous.Justin kept asking his best man{which was RJ},if he looked ok.

"RJ,I feel ill.I'm so nervous! I think I'm going to be sick."

"Stop worrying,you look great. Kelly will think you're sexy."

"Easy for you to say,you're not the one getting married."

"Look,I got married."

"When?"

"14 years ago,you were there. I married Nikki."

"Oh yeah.Now I remember."

"I was so nervous.But I knew Nik would want me to be calm.So I took deep breaths and everything turned out okay.Relax,Justin the wedding will turn out okay."

20 minutes later,Justin was standing near the minister. He watched as the bridesmaids walked down the aile,then the flower girls and ringer bearer,then his daughter.Finally,Kelly walked down the aile. She looked amazing,even though she was pregnant. Justin could hardly keep his eyes off of her.

She finally made it up to the minister.Justin took his place beside her and everyone sat down.

The minister spoke:

"Friends and family,we are gathered here today to join in marriage Kelly Brianne Clarkson and Justin Edwin Guarini."

On the front roll sat Kelly's mother and step-father. As the minister finished speaking,Mrs.Taylor{Kelly's mom} started to bawl her eyes out.

The minister contiuned:

"Marriage is a very special thing. Its a bond that will last forever. I know that Kelly and Justin have known eachother for a long time and know this is where the path was going to lead them.So,Kelly repeat after me:

Justin repeated the same wedding vows{changed from husband to wife and blah blah blah}. They gave eachother the rings then the minister said:

"I now pronuce you both,husband and wife.You may now kiss the bride."

Justin brought Kelly close to him and kissed her in a way that Kelly had never been kissed brfore.

They walked back down the aile for the first time as a married couple. Both of them were happy. Kelly's parents loved Justin like a son.Justin's parents loved Kelly like a daughter. Their siblings got along and everything was okay.

The reception was beautiful. They ate cake and chatted. Then it was time for a dance. Everyone paired up and danced. Megan danced with her boyfriend Billy. As they danced,Megan couldn't keep her eyes off her parents.

"Meg,why do you keep staring at your parents?"

"They look so happy."

"Well duh! This is a wedding."

"They honestly love eachother."

"Of course they do,would they have had 2 kids and gotten married if they hated eachother?"

"No."

The dance ended,and Kelly and Justin went off on their honeymoon to Hawaii. Before they got in the car,Megan felt a surge of saddness.

"Don't leave!"

"Meg,we'll be back before you know it.You'll be staying with Melissa.Have fun!"

"I will.I'll miss you."

"We'll miss you too."

"Bye."

"Bye,sweetheart."

Kelly hugged her daughter. They had changed into normal clothes. That day would forever be a memory in Megan's life....a memory she didn't want to erase.

Chapter 11 A week passed and the honeymoon was over. Megan loved staying at Melissa's house but she really missed her parents. So when her mother called on June 26th to say that they were home. Megan screamed with happiness! She packed her bags,said bye to Melissa and drove home. She ran through the door and hugged her mom. "Mom! I'm so happy to see you! Did you have a good time?" "Yes,we had a lovely time.Thank you for asking." Justin entered the room. "Dad!" Megan ran over to him and threw her arms around him. "Hey,sweetie.Did you have a good time at Melissa's?" "The best." "Good.I was worried that you would be worried about us,but Kelly told me to stop it." "Kelly? Who's she?" Kelly blushed. "Sweetheart,I'm Kelly." "Oh,I forgot that!" The family shared a laugh. "So mom,do you have any names picked out for the baby?" "Yes,we do." "Tell me!" "For boy,Justin Clarkson or J.C. For a girl,Summer Elizabeth." "Cool. I like those names." All of a sudden,Kelly smiled. "Megan,put your hand right here." Megan followed her mother's instructions. She felt a slight kick. "Mom?" "You just felt your brother or sister's kick." "Wow.When did it start doing that?" "In Hawaii." "Cool." They sat down in the living room and talked about old times. Megan went to bed with a smile on her face. She had two loving parents and a sibling she was dying to meet. Chapter 12 Now,five more months had passed. Life was changing right in front of Megan's eyes. Her mother was now nine months pregnant and due any day. Megan's relationship with Billy was blossoming into a romance. They were now juniors in high school. Megan's friendship with Melissa was going strong even after 10 years. She had gotten to know her father and loved him very much. To see her parents together made Megan extremely happy. It was a normal evening in the Guarini household. Megan had adopted her father's last name. She was working on some Spanish homework that she couldn't understand. Her dad was writing an email to his friends about the soon to be born baby. Kelly was sitting on the couch watching a rerun of"Seventh Heaven". All was quiet. At around 8 o'clock,Kelly started to feel pains in her stomach. She thought it must have been the Mexican food that they ate for supper that night. The pains increased over time. She knew these weren't stomach pains...they could only be labor pains. She let out a scream which brought Justin and Megan into the room. "Kell,what's wrong?" "I don't know." Some water had dripped on the floor. "Did you spill some water?" "Um,yeah I did! THIS BABY IS COMMING FAST!" "Oh,shit! Megan,go get your mother's suitcase. I'm going to move her to the van." Megan obeyed Justin's request. She met them at the van. "Dad,are the pains getting worse?" "I think so. She's screaming loudly." They got to the hosptial,ran inside and checked Kelly into a room. She was still in deep pain. Megan had called her friends. They arrived and came in the room. "Hey." "Kids? What are you guys doing here?" "Meg called us.We want to be here." "Sir,how is she doing?" Kelly screamed. "We're getting really close." "We'll be in the waiting room." Megan and her friends went into the waiting room. A lot of older people were sitting there. A young man ran into the room,his face was red. He sat down next to Megan. "Excuse young lady,do you know where Kelly Clarkson is?" "She's my mom." "Megan?" "That's my name." "Holy shit!You're a beautiful girl." "Thanks.Who are you?" "I'm a friend of your father's." "Really? What is your name?" "Ryan." "Okay,Ryan.How do you know my parents?" "Long story." "We're going to be here all night. You might as well tell me." Ryan explained to Megan who he was,how he knew her parents and stuff like that. Justin walked in the room. Ryan ran up to him. Justin took a step back. "Ryan?" "Yeah. How is she doing?" "Um,she's going to have a regular delivery.Follow me." Megan and all of the people that were with her followed Justin into another waiting room. This one was for deliveries. Justin went inside a door. Hours passed. Megan grew worried. All of a sudden she heard a baby crying. Her father came into the room,holding a small baby. "Megan?" Megan stood up and walked over to her father. He gently handed her the baby. "What is it?" "Megan,this is your sister." "Sister? What's her name?" "Summer Elizabeth." Megan looked at Summer. "She's red." "She'll get darker like you or will get whiter like your mom." "She's pretty.How's mom?" "She's fine.Very tired but fine.Summer weighed 7 pounds 12 ounces.She's 19 inches tall." "Was I that big and tall?" "You weighed 7 pounds 11 ounces and you were 20 inches tall." "Can I see Mom?" "She's getting moved to a room." Thirty minutes later,Megan got to see her Mom. She was tired. They talked for a while. Megan went home. Life had changed. It was November 13th,the time was 2:15 AM. Megan's life changed at that moment.

Chapter 13

Two days later,Kelly came home with baby Summer. Summer was a beautiful baby girl. She had brown hair{like her father},hazel eyes{like her mother},and medium colored skin{a combination of both}.She was a long baby but skinny. In her parents' eyes,she was perfect. Megan wasn't thrilled about having a baby sister. Yeah,she was cute but all Summer could do was cry,eat,and "you know". What was so special about that?

Megan put the baby on the changing table,she unbuttoned the tiny buttons on the sleeper.Then,Megan opened up the diper. She almost fainted from the smell. Megan quickly changed the diper. Summer was happier. Once again,Megan tried to rock her sister to sleep. While she rocked back and forth. Her mother came into the room.

"You two are bonding."

"What?"

"Meg,I watched you change the diper and everything. You're a good big sister."

"Really?"

"Yes."

"You know,for a baby Summer isn't that bad."

"I knew you would learn to like her."

"She looks like Dad."

"Yeah,well her eyes are the same exact color as mine.Hazel."

"Oh,I see."

"Meg?"

"Yeah?"

"Your dad isn't going to be home for a while.Do you want to spend some"Mother Daughter time" while Summer is napping?"

"Sure."

Until Justin came home,Kelly and Megan got to know eachother.But Megan still had one question.

"Are you going to have any more kids?"

"Meg! We might have maybe one more,but after Summer turns one.Why are you asking?"

"Because I kinda like babies."

The rest of the time they spent together was relaxing and enjoyable. Both of them loved every minute of it.

Chapter Fourteen

Months passed. Megan learned to love her baby sis. As time went by,favorite stories of Megan's childhood{Love you Forever,Just In Case You'll Ever Wonder,Green Eggs and Ham,Cat in The Hat....} were retold to baby Summer. Life was perfect. Meg loved her parents more than life itself. She knew life was too good to be true but it didn't worry her. Megan's boyfriend was becoming the love of her life.

That morning she awakened by Summer's laughter and cooing.

Kelly got up and walked into Summer's room. Justin was in there,sitting in a rocking chair,holding the baby. Kelly smiled.

"Kell,I thought you would never wake up."

"I heard Summer and thought something was wrong."

"Nope,everything's cool."

Kelly sat down in a chair near the crib.

"Justin."

"What?"

"I love you so fricking much!"

"No...I love you ten times more than you love me!"

Kelly looked down at Summer{who was now five months old}.

"Obviously you do.You got horny one afternoon and we did you know what.Look down,she's what happend nine months later."

"I see your point. Oh,before I forget......"

Justin handed Kelly the baby and reached into his pajama bottoms' pocket. He pulled out a small box. He exchanged the box for the baby with her.

"Open it."

Kelly opened the box. Inside was a golden ring with two tiny birthstones.

"Oh,Justin...."

"Happy birthday."

Kelly's eyes got teary and she cried. Megan walked in.

"What's wrong?"

Chapter Fiffteen

But still the arguements with Megan were sorta taking a toll on their marriage.

Kelly got up and went to Megan's bedroom door.

"Megan,turn that down."

"WHAT? CAN'T HEAR YOU!"

Megan turned the music up louder.

"Meg,turn that music down or I'll turn it down myself!"

"WHAT? I STILL CAN'T HEAR YOU!!"

The music kept getting louder.Finally,Justin got up and went to the door.

"Meg,turn it down or I'll come in there and turn it off."

Megan still didn't turn it down. Kelly went into the bathroom and got a bobby-pin. She gave to Justin and he unlocked the door. They went in.

Kelly was mad at her daughter.

"Megan Renne,you clean this room up! Change your clothes,put on some decent music! Do something!"

Megan was so mad at her mother.

"Mom,I'm not you! I'm not a fricking goody-goody two shoes! Accept it and go on! The music you listen to is crap,I hate it. You don't care about me anymore! All your attention is focused on Summer! Do you even give a crap about me?"

Megan paused.

She spoke again.

"I knew it! Well,I'm going to grandma's."

She left the room. Justin and Kelly heard her search for her keys and go outside. Then they heard a car start and leave.

Kelly got Summer and they sat down to breakfest.

"Justin,where did I go wrong?"

"What do you mean?"

"Did I miss something when they were telling me how to be a good mother? Am I that bad?"

"No.Kell,you're a great mother."

"Then why did Megan get mad and leave?"

"She's just mad. She'll cool off and come home soon enough."

Kelly started to cry.

"Hey now....Kelly,you're a great mom."

"You can say that.You're not my son."

She put her head on Justin's chest. He rubbed her head and wispered"Its going to be okay."

meanwhile-

Megan had reached her destiation. Her father's parents' house. She loved them alot and knew they would accept her with welcome arms. She turned off the car and went up to the door.

She rang the doorbell.

Justin's mother{Brenda} answered the door. At first,she was alarmed to see her son's eldest child standing there in black clothes and ear peircings.

She opened the door.

"Meg,what's wrong? Is something wrong with your parents,Summer?"

"Grandma,I'm pissed off at them right now."

Brenda's face filled with concern.

"Meg,what happend?"

"They insulted the music I listen to,the way I dress. Everything! They insulted me!"

"Sweet pea,come inside."

"Are you sure grandpa won't mind?''

"Naw,you're our grandbaby. Don't worry."

Megan went inside with her grandmother. She had always loved her grandparents.

Brenda went into the living room.

"Edrin,we have a visitor."

"Who?"

"Justin's baby girl."

"They had another one?"

"No. The oldest one,Megan.The one that looks like Kelly in the face and Justin in the body features."

"Oh! Okay."

Brenda came back in the room with Megan's grandfather.

"Hey there,long legs! I haven't seen you since your folks got married!"

"Hey grandpa."

"You look hungry. Brenda,fix this skinny kid some food..."

"No its okay.I'm not hungry."

"Just like her daddy! Come on,sweetheart you can have some cereal."

"Well,okay."

Megan ate breakfest while her grandparents talked about things she didn't understand. Finally,they started to speak to her again.

"So,long legs how's your daddy and your mommy?"

"I'm mad at them."

Edrin listened as Meg explained what happend that morning.

"Megan,you know that anytime you have a disagreement with Kelly and Justin you can always some here."

"Thanks,grandma."

After breakfest,Megan helped her grandmother wash the dishes. Everytime since Megan was a little girl,they always went into the living room and talked.

This time was no exception to the rule.

"Meg,um I know you are very upset at your parents. But you have to understand that they only want what's best for you. They personally don't like punk and goth music,and to see that you insulted the type of music that they sang, honey that hurts them."

"Then why?"

"Why do they hate that music? I don't know...I want you to see something."

Brenda went into her bedroom and got some old photo albums.

She sat down next to Megan and started looking at the pictures.

She pointed to one.

"Megan,do you know who that baby is?"

"No."

"That's your father."

"Really? Wow. I looked a little like that when I was a baby."

She pointed to another picture.

"That was taken after you were born. Your mom looks tired,doesn't she?"

"Yeah."

Brenda closed that album and opened another one.

She pointed to a picture.

"Megan,that picture was taken the night your mother won American Idol."

"They look so happy."

"Honey,they were."

"I guess they aren't happy now."

She flipped through the pages and came across a picture that Megan had seen once.

"That was taken while your mother was pregnant with you."

"Mom said Dad ran away after she got pregnant."

"Well,in a way he did. He left after she told him that you might not be his. But we had a paternity test taken and found out that you are indeed his child.But Justin didn't know till you were 13. I called him and he started emailing your mother. You know the rest of the story."

"Oh. So,they really do love me just as much as they love Summer?"

"Yes. Sweetheart,Justin would do anything for you. He loves you so much that he can't describe it. Your mother,Kelly loves you more than life itself."

"Oh."

At around 1 PM,Megan went to the door and left.

Brenda smiled. She knew she had done the right thing.

Megan got home and apologized to her parents.

Kelly was so happy to see Megan that she cried and cried.

That night Megan got rid of her goth posters,changed her hair color,took out her pericings,and became the Megan that everyone knew.
